For a few months now, Jamie Foxx has been recovering from an unspecified medical emergency that was first announced by his daughter, Corinne Foxx, in April. Since then, various reports have come out about the actor's health, and the latest ones paint a more positive picture of his status. On July 17, People reported that a source said that Jamie is now receiving outpatient care and "working really hard … to get back to normal." The same anonymous source also told the outlet that the 55-year-old held a party to celebrate his recovery.
This news comes after Jamie was recently seen in public again following weeks of speculation about how he's doing and just how serious his situation was. Read on to find out more.

Jamie's hospitalization was revealed in April.
On April 12, Jamie's daughter, Corinne, shared on Instagram that her father had "experienced a medical complication" the day before. "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery," the 29-year-old wrote.
In the weeks that followed, co-stars and friends of Jamie spoke out, while the actor and his family kept quiet. This led to many conflicting reports about his condition, with the most extreme claiming that those close to him were preparing "for the worst."
Corinne later debunked this report. "Sad to see how the media runs wild," she wrote on her Instagram story on May 12. "My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone's prayers and support!"
A little over a week earlier, Jamie had shared his first social media post since his emergency. "Appreciate all the love!! Feeling blessed," he posted on May 3.
A source said Jamie is "working hard."
In the latest report from People, a source said that Jamie "has been working really hard these last couple of months to get back to normal and has greatly improved since he first got to the facility."
Per the same article, Jamie has been going to a rehabilitation facility in Chicago. The source said that he held a party at the facility "to celebrate being better." They added, "He is still doing some outpatient rehab though."

He's looking forward to getting back to work.
A source shared a similar update about the star with Entertainment Tonight, saying that the Oscar-winner is "doing so much better and is getting back to being himself." He is also apparently thinking about next steps in his career.
"He has been talking to people about his work projects and looking forward to the future," they explained. "He feels grateful that his recovery has been going well."
Jamie's current projects include the movie he was filming when his health emergency occurred. The actor had been shooting Back in Action with co-star Cameron Diaz; although that project will now have to be put on further hold due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Additionally, Jamie is the host of the game show Beat Shazam alongside Corinne. Temporary hosts have taken their place amid Jamie's recovery. The two are also set to host a new game show called We Are Family.

Jamie was recently seen out and about.
As reported by People, Jamie has been spotted publicly this month. On July 9, TMZ published a video of him on a boat traveling along the Chicago River. A few days later, the publication posted a photo of him playing pickleball. He was also seen at a Topgolf location near Chicago. People reported that he recently returned a handbag to a woman when it fell out of the pedicab she was riding in. Jamie followed the pedicab in an SUV to return it.
"I didn't even know it fell out," the woman, Terri "Quenni" Glenn, told People. "I said, 'Jamie! Jamie!' I said, 'Are you feeling good?' and he said, 'I'm feeling good.'"
