Connor B. Paid Tribute to His Trans Sister During the ‘Bachelorette’ in the Cutest Way – Celeb Secrets

Connor Brennan made waves when he landed the first kiss of Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette 一 while dressed as a cat last Monday (June 7). Not only is the eight-grade math teacher and musician full of nice-guy, nerdy charm, he also seems to be a pretty cool older brother.
On Monday (June 14), a post on The Bachelor Reddit page revealed that Connor wore a trans flag anklet during filming; a tribute to his transgender sister. The post, a screenshot of an Instagram post reportedly from Connor’s parents reads: “While we’re proud that our son, Connor is going to be on this season of the Bachelorette, we’re even more proud that he wore a trans flag bracelet … in honor of his sister (and all trans people!) for all of filming.”
CONNOR B., KATIE THURSTON
Connor’s public show of love and support for the transgender community, on a show that is often criticized for its enforcement of binary gender roles (hello, it’s 2021, maybe it’s time for the Bachelorette to propose?) is refreshing. It’s also perfect for Katie, who has made a point of using her platform to spread awareness and talk about important issues, from her discussions on sex positivity to showing her support of Black Lives Matter.
Last episode, Katie and Connor hit it off once more, redoing that first kiss (sans cat ears). Will the good times continue? Let us know what you think by leaving a reaction down below or tweeting @celebsecrets.
